Accorhotels are set to continue their expansion in Myanmar, with plans for seven more hotels across the country.
French Accorhotels is currently negotiating with local investors for seven more hotels across Myanmar.
After opening their first hotel in Myanmar in 2013, Accorhotels has since opened eight more hotels in Myanmar.
Colliers says Accorhotels’ confidence in Myanmar’s economic future resonates with other developers within the country, as the stock of hotels has surged in the recent years.
Hotels in Yangon witnessed a 6 per cent increase in occupancy rate in comparison to the past year, with the change being attributed to the higher tourist arrivals, especially from Asian countries such as China and Thailand.
Unwavering Asian travellers are expected to increase further due to the latest changes to the visa restrictions to Japanese, Chinese, and South Korean visitors.
Colliers suggests implementing vigorous marketing campaigns highlighting attractive sites in the country to strengthen the tourism sector in Myanmar.
