A brief profile on the The Myanmar Construction Entrepreneurs Association.
The Myanmar Construction Entrepreneurs Association has been associated with development of the country nationwide, evolving the development of economic, social and civil sectors as well as assuring the people’s ownership of housing facilities.
In addition, MCEA set up the Myanmar Construction and Development Public Company which will have a constitution and trading arm.
Establishment
The Myanmar construction Entrepreneurs Association was established in 1996 and became a civil society social association under order No(1803) dated of the (20-8-1998) of the Ministry of Home Affairs. It was first established with 150 members and at present, there are over 10,000 members. The office of the Association during the time of its establishment in 7 Nov: 1996 was 216/222 Bo Myat Tun Road, Bo Myat Tun Housing Estate, Pazundaung Township.
In the year 2000, with the permission of the Government, the (Department of Human Settlement & Housing Development) leased a plot of land measuring, 1.92 Acres, situated at the junction of the Thuwunna to the association MCEA’s new office was built on that plot, based on modern architectural design, complete with landscaping. It was completed by the end of the year (2001) and the new office was opened on 10th of February 2002 with great celebrations. A Multi – purpose Hall was later established. The functions of the Association is being carried out by (36) executive committee members.
Future Plans
The followings are future plans for the MCEA.
