Retail outlets within the newly constructed Kantharyar shopping centre were officially opened last month. Henry Lynn from Slade Property Services was among those to report on the ceremony.
The Kantharyar Retail Centre is open for business after a ribbon cutting ceremony was held at the site last month.
Developed through Asia Myanmar Shining Star (AMSS), 70 per cent of the retail shops officially welcomed customers on January 26.
Government authorities, senior management of AMSS and Wyndham Hotel Group and retail tenants joined other prestigious guests at the event, which culminated with U Khin Mg Phyu (Executive Director, AMSS), Mr. Felix Patrick (General Manager, Wyndham) and Mr. Yuan Cheng (Marketing Director, AMSS) cutting the ribbon.
The Kantharyar Retail Centre will include a cinema, supermarket, banks, fashion shops, cafes and restaurants, mobile and accessories, cosmetics, a gymnasium and an amusement centre.
While the retail units are fully leased, some of the shops are still being renovated.
One of the anchor tenants is Market Place Supermarket, which will support the expats who are staying in Kantharyar Serviced Apartments, Residences, and the office tower.
Focus Gym is opening soon and JCGV cinema is expected to open in Quarter 2 2019.
Of the other vendors, Tom and Toms cafe has been serving coffee and cakes as the very first branch in Yangon, KFC is on level 2 along with Indian Tadka and Wang Wang hot pot, while Cafe Amazon, Mala City, Ayam Penyet Indonesian Food, Sorabol Korean Restaurant and Kai Li Take-away Restaurant are on the ground floor.
CB Bank will also open their first ever digital banking branch with traditional banking on the side.
